A triangle named after being located at the triangular point of the Han River, Seoul Station, and Itaewon in the olden days. You can easily find old long-established restaurants with shabby facades around the triangular area. The signs that show signs of time and the quaint atmosphere make you feel like you've left Seoul. Recently, new spaces have been created one by one somewhere in this triangle. Here are some restaurants in the Triangle area that are strangely mixed together as if they weren't a good match.
1. 50 years of traditional beef offal, 'Pyongyang restaurant'
A 50-year-old yakiniku restaurant that specializes in special parts of beef such as sheep, offal, and marbled meat. The signature menu is âoffal,â which has a subtle charcoal scent, and is characterized by the fact that the fat is removed from the bottom of the grill, making it clean and light. Another popular menu item is the âoffal gomguk soup,â which has a rich flavor made from a hearty amount of entrails and beef bones. It's a good idea to note that you can only order until 5 p.m. on weekdays and 9 p.m. on weekends. âYangbap,â which is stir-fried with lamb and kakuteki, is also a delicacy.

â²Location: 186 Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu â²Opening hours: Every day from 06:00 to 22:00, closed on holidays â²Price: Internal gomguk soup 8,000 won, offal 22,000 won â²Review (eating meat is eaten at this house): You only need to eat lamb at this house. The freshness of the sheep was very good. If the lamb loses its freshness or is tough, the seasoning will soften the sheep's tissue, but it's soft even if you just bake it.
2. Briquet-grilled mackerel, 'Daewon Restaurant'
At the door of a grilled mackerel house that has been in place for over 40 years, you can always meet a grandmother who is sitting in front of a briquette fire and grilling the mackerel with care. The signature menu is âgrilled fish white rice,â which is full of moist grilled mackerel and hearty side dishes. A side dish that reminds me of home-cooked meals prepared by my grandmother when I was a child, and grilled mackerel, which is soft and moist, is excellent.

3. A cafe with a warm atmosphere, âShidoâ
Try a cafe that is currently open. Although it is located inside an alley, many customers come to the cafe thanks to the warm interior and the friendly owner. It is especially crowded with nearby office workers at lunchtime, so be sure to check it out when visiting. The coffee uses felt beans, and you can order any drink of your choice, such as Americano, latte, and flat white. As a dessert menu, âEarl Grey Pound Cake,â which is topped with savory cream, is popular.

The menu changes slightly depending on the season, and recently they have introduced a new French vegetable stew with ratatouille and salmon steak. âPaté en crouteâ, which is prepared as an appetizer, has a unique aroma that can be favored or disliked, so it's a good idea to check it out when ordering.

5. âShifukuâ, a good value izakaya
An izakaya where you can enjoy Japanese ramen and rice bowls for lunch and a drink with a variety of snacks in the evening. Although it is a small space, it is always crowded with many people because of its affordable price and taste compared to other izakayas. The popular menu is âNagasaki Seafood Champon,â which boasts a hearty amount of seafood. The deep and refreshing flavor of the soup, which contains clams, mussels, blue crab, and squid, is excellent. The crunchy, savory croquettes are also a delicacy. Note, however, that they do not sell soju.
