Yeongdeungpo forms the core of Korea's largest industrial zone, Kyungjin Industrial Zone. Yeongdeungpo-dong forms a commercial district and forms the largest suburban center in Seoul. Surrounded by huge industrial and residential areas where its unique atmosphere has not yet passed away, it has been gradually changing around Mullae Art Creation Village in recent years. We will introduce the new restaurants that can be found there, as well as long-standing restaurants that are still loved by people.
1. 53-year tradition of Chinese cuisine, âSongjukjangâ
An authentic Chinese restaurant with a 53-year tradition that has been in the business for the second generation for 40 years. âPepper Tray Jajangâ and âSamseon Pepper Champon,â which use cheongyang pepper, are popular dishes that are representative of Songjukjang. Unlike regular jajangmyeon, the combination of savory jajang and the spiciness and aroma of cheongyang pepper, which irritates the tip of the nose, is both irritating and appealing to the palate. âSamsun Pepper Champon,â which has a rich soup flavor that contains more than 20 kinds of seafood such as conch, sea bream, shrimp, and squid, is also popular.

â²Location: 21 Yeongjung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu â²Opening hours: 11:00-22:00 every day, closed on holidays â²Price: Pepper tray jajang (2 people) 11,000 won, Samseon pepper champon 7,000 won â²Review (Hello, Shikigami): A restaurant that has been around for over 40 years! It's still a place that continues to be so famous that people line up to eat it! They stick to traditional Chinese food, so they have likes and dislikes. Still, they generally suit your taste, so I don't think there's much to worry about choosing a menu ^^
2. 'Season Coffee and Bake', a hanok cafe with coffee and bread
A cafe that combines the traditional atmosphere of a hanok with a vintage sensibility in a renovated house. You can find bakeries and coffees that are prepared slightly differently every day. Popular items include the âbutter pretzel,â which has butter sandwiched between light pretzels, and the moist âcarrot pound cake.â Please note that they also have brunch menus such as sandwiches, salads, and beers that are great to enjoy as meal replacements.

The open space, the music that comes from the LP board, and even the bread that tastes great compared to the cheap price! It has a unique atmosphere where everyone blends together:) Even the boss and the part-time job students are all kind!
3. âYankee's Burger,â a homemade burger specialty store in Art Village
It's a homemade burger specialty store located in Mullae Creative Village, and its most popular menu is the âMullae Burger,â which uses black rice ciabatta buns. Beef patties and truffle flavors are added to the chewy batter and topped with sautéed mushrooms, salami, and cheddar cheese for a rich flavor. The âChili Cheese Bacon Burgerâ with spicy chili and cheese on crispy grilled bacon is also one of the popular dishes. Note that if you add 4,500 won when ordering a burger, you can get a 1/2 French fries+drink (or draft beer) set.

â²Location: 434-1, Dorim-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu â²Business hours: 12:00 to 22:00 every day (break time 16:00 to 17:00) â²Price: Mullai burger 8,600 won, Yankees pepperoni (1 piece) 4,600 won â²Review (shikigin dance): A big hit from the visuals. I ate a mullae burger, and the non-irritating sauce contained mushrooms, so it had a nice texture and was light and delicious.
4. âJobâ, a bakery master of life
A bakery run by Brad Pitt, a famous bakery in Yeouido, and Chef Lim Yong-sun, who was the executive chef of Brad Lab. You can enjoy healthy and light bread without using chemical additives. Job's signature bread is âZendanpan,â which was also shown in Master of Life, and you can enjoy it sweetly by putting moist red bean paste between soft breads. It closes when all the bread is sold out, so it's a good idea to check it out when you visit.

â²Location: 3 Dangsan-ro 44-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu â²Business hours: Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 20:00, closed on Sundays, public holidays, and holidays â²Price range: Red bean bread 1,700 won, green tea wine 2,400 won â²Review (Shikigin Aritaum 12): The red bean paste looks like a sandwich. However, eating it like this seems to make the bread less soggy, and the texture of the bread and red bean paste seems to play a little separately in the mouth, and it has a good flavor of soy sauce, so I definitely found it more delicious. It's nice that the price is cheap too.
5. âIjobosamâ, a Bossam specialty store with 20 years of tradition
It is a Bossam specialty store with over 20 years of tradition, and is characterized by offering a variety of cuts of meat using only 100% domestic pork. Thanks to this, you can enjoy samgyeop, hungjeong, and pork, which are properly mixed with scaffolding and lean meat. If you order bosam, it comes with squid stew and cheonggukjang. In addition to assorted bosams, they also have meals such as cod soup, dongtae stew, and snacks that are great to enjoy as snacks such as stir-fried pork, tofu, and kimchi.

â²Location: 244 Dangsan-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu â²Business hours: 11:00-22:30 every day â²Price: Assorted bosam (large), 35,000 won â²Review (Shikigin eTunnel): I was very satisfied with eating oyster bosam. The bossam meat also came out warm at first, but when I ate it, it stayed moist the whole time I ate it, and it didn't harden, but it continued to be soft. It was a place where it felt like real makgeolli would pass by itself. I've already heard that it's a famous restaurant near Yeongdeungpo, but I think there's a reason for it all.
