Eighty-one restaurants from around the country were selected for the âHundred Years Store,â which connects generations. Following last year's 59, an additional 22 were designated this year. These are places that have been silently meeting customers in one place for over 30 years. A place that impresses with âuniformityâ while protecting faith and determination. These efforts have stolen the government's taste. The 81 restaurants selected directly by the government are currently known through the food tech platform âShikigami.â Under the title âHundred Years Gourmet,â AJU Keizai will introduce the Hundred Years Restaurant and the food restaurants filled with memories one by one.

âBibimbap,â which is eaten by putting various herbs and meat on top of rice and seasoning, is one of Korea's representative foods. Bibimbap has developed in a unique way according to the environment and specialties of each region. âHwangdeung Bibimbapâ in Iksan, Jeonbuk, has been famous for a long time, being ranked as one of the top 3 bibimbaps in the country along with Jeonju and Jinju.
âJinmi Dinerâ is known as the originator of Hwangdeung bibimbap. The history of this place begins when the first boss, Mrs. Ko Joyeo, opened a restaurant in the market in 1931. Since then, Won Geum Ae has continued her mother's hand since 1973, and her son, CEO Lee Jong-sik, has continued for the third generation from 2003 to the present. The signature menu, âYukhoe Bibimbap,â is made by putting bean sprouts in a thick beef bone broth, then adding homemade gochujang seasoning and grating it. A hearty garnish such as vegetables, yukhoe, and cheongpo-mook is placed on top of the seasoned bibimbap, heated hot in a bowl, and served to the customer. The combination of the savory flavor that permeates between the rice grains during the toasting process and the diverse texture of the rich garnish is excellent. The business will close when supplies run out, so it's a good idea to check by phone before visiting.
[Hundred Years PICK] âHwangdeung Bibimbapâ = Unlike regular bibimbap, it is characterized by the fact that it is plain rice seasoned with gochujang and then garnished. Hwangdeung bibimbap comes with clear seonjip soup, which soothes the spicy flavor of bibimbap and is great to eat in the middle.
