As good as a restaurant is Yujam!
1. âOmunchang Sundae Gukbapâ in Jungni-dong, filled with chewy entrails
â²Location: 1153 Hanbat-daero, Daedeok-gu, Daejeon
â²Business hours: 00:00 – 24:00 every day
â²Price: Sundae gukbap (bowl) 6,500 won, assorted sundae snacks (small) 5,000 won
â²Review (Chairman Shikishin): Omunchang Sundae Gukbap is a must-go restaurant when I go on a business trip to Daejeon… It's a really cheap price and a lot of portion. Plus, the taste of the sundae soup is excellent; it's definitely different from the sundae soup you've eaten until now… If you ever go to Daejeon, this is a must-try place!!
2. Over 20 kinds of authentic feasts, Mannyeon-dong's âVIP Stone-grilled Riceâ
â²Location: 21, Mannyeon-ro 68beon-gil, Seo-gu, Daejeon
â²Business hours: every day 10:00 – 20:30, B/T 15:00 – 17:00
â²Price: Stone-grilled rice 13,000 won, Sosok-rib set meal 27,000 won
â²Testimonial (Boiled Rabbit): The rice was cooked one by one in a kamameshi, and there was no place to soak the rice, so it was perfect. The table is full of side dishes, from spicy to boring, and it's fun to eat them first with your own eyes.
3. 'Sariwon Main Store' in Dunsan-dong, Pyongyang-style cold noodles with a strong flavor
â²Location: 77, Dunsan-ro 31beon-gil, Seo-gu, Daejeon
â²Business hours: 11:00 – 22:00 every day
â²Price: Pyongyang watercress noodles 9,000 won, Sariwon beef yakiniku 14,000 won
â²Testimonial (Astronaut Shikigin): The cold noodles are delicious, and the kimchi bibimbap is truly amazing! It's a menu only available in Sariwon, so I sometimes come and eat it when I think of it! Every menu is delicious and the side dishes are served clean and well… I think it's a great place to entertain people from Goodgood Taj!!
4. âPark Sook Octopus Soup Main Storeâ in Hagi-dong, where you eat plump octopus boiled in a cool broth
â²Location: 153, Hajiro, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon
â²Opening hours: 10:30 – 21:30 every day, B/T (weekdays) 15:00-17:00, closed on Sundays
â²Price: Park Sook Octopus Soup 25,000 won, Oyster Sashimi 29,000 won
â²Testimonial (Shikigami Kisungjeon emoji): It's a bit remote, but it's always full of customers. You can add octopus noodles to gourd-containing broth, boil them, and eat them. The broth is always cool, and even though it uses wild octopus, it's not expensive. As a finishing touch, cook kishimasu sari and eat it, and it's amazing.
5. The rich flavor of brisket broth with dongchimi, 'Sariwon Myeonok Main Store' in Daeheung-dong
â²Location: 62, Junggyo-ro, Jung-gu, Daejeon
â²Business hours: 11:00 – 21:30 every day
â²Price: Cold noodles 9,000 won, beef yakiniku 14,000 won
â²Review (Shikigin Toronto's New House): A restaurant full of people who came to eat cold noodles! If you come, be sure to eat it with watercress noodles~ I like pickled radishes because unlike other places, they don't have a strong acidity! Watercress noodles have a refreshing broth and a lot of umami! It wasn't too heavy, and the seasoning was just right, so it was cool and I ate it well!
