Changsin-dong can be found along the castle road leading from Dongdaemun in Seoul to Naksan. It corresponds to the east end of Jongno-gu and faces Samseon-dong to the north and Sindang-dong to the south. The old houses and alleys come together to give off the smell of human life, but when the unique steep hillside topography is added, it has a unique sensibility that makes you wonder if it fits right in the middle of Seoul.
âNaksan Park,â which was added because it looks like a camel's back, is a charming place with a castle path that winds along a hill. Flowers bloom along the castle path in spring, autumn leaves in fall, and lonely temperatures in winter, which are also attractive. Changsin-dong has such an attractive view of castles and cliffs. There are many restaurants and cafes with this kind of view in the middle of the hill. Seeing the scenery and sunset of Seoul from a high place brings unforgettable memories.
Changsin-dong is a charming neighborhood where you can enjoy everything from a meal with a refined sensibility while looking out at the cliffs to restaurants famous all over the country, such as cold noodles and pig's feet. Let's go enjoy the sensibility of Changshin-dong this week.
1. Enjoy the Thai feeling of âjungleâ in a hot spot with a panoramic view of the cliffs

The steep uphill path and narrow parking are difficult, but it's a popular place with a Southeast Asian-inspired interior that makes you feel like you've come to Thailand and the unique cliffs of Changsin-dong. You can enjoy a variety of menus and drinks at this northern Thai-style restaurant. Phu Pat Pong Curry serves soft, soft crab with yellow curry. Deep-fried rice paper has a fun texture. If you add jasmine rice and eat it, you can enjoy the rich flavor of the sauce. Window seats are assigned in order of reservation, so it is recommended that you make a reservation in advance.

If you walk endlessly up the narrow alley, you'll see a small tiger-shaped sign that makes you smile. The ordering area and dining area are separate, so it's a good idea to check the signs in front of the entrance. The modern space based on the traditional hanok feel and the window with a panoramic view of Changsin-dong are wonderful. They sell Korean-style donuts made with local specialties from all over the country. Taraku donuts filled with milk cream have an excellent soft yet chewy texture. Milk in a pretty bottle consists of flavors that go well with donuts, such as jasmine, almond dates, and strawberries, so there is a wide range to choose from.

A cafe with a panoramic view of Seoul in Changsin-dong, which is adjacent to Naksan Park. It's a gallery-type cafe where you can enjoy Seoul as if it were a movie in an art installation space by designing and creating all the structures yourself. The four-story building provides comfort with spacious seating spaces, and the panoramic view of Changsin-dong, Namsan Mountain, and Namsan Tower from the window is wonderful. When the weather is nice, you can even see Lotte Tower in Jamsil. If you want to relax and heal with a cup of aromatic coffee, I recommend this place.

4. âChangsin-dong Spicy Pork Feetâ is addictive for its spicy flavor

If you walk from Dongdaemun Station to Changshin Alley Market, you'll come across a pig's foot shop with a yellow sign that enhances your taste. The main store of the famous spicy pork foot in Changsin-dong. In front of the store, shiny pig's feet are displayed, and you can watch the meat mixed with spicy sauce without a break. As you eat pig's feet, the more you eat them, the more spicy they become, so I recommend ordering additional steamed egg custard and rice balls to neutralize the spiciness. The seasoning is so addictive that you get sweaty on the back of your nose and forehead, but you eat it until the end.

â²Review (Shikigami Seungita): If I had to pick only one Buddha foot restaurant, this is it!! It's not just adding spiciness to pig's feet; it's grilled, it's really the first spicy pig's foot flavor I've ever tried…!!!!! I went there for the 4th time already with my friend, and all the friends I went with said it was delicious!
5. Haejang cold noodles with 40 years of tradition, âNaksan Naengmyeonâ

Naksan Naengmyeon is famous for its spicy Haejang Naengmyeon. At first glance, it looks similar to makguksu in style that isn't watercress or bibimnaengmyeon. It is characterized by adding lots of cucumber and sesame seeds to the rich red broth. The sweet and sour broth is filled with a refreshing cucumber flavor, and the savory flavor of sesame seeds is also good. The balance of flavors is good, and it's always full of customers. I'm a little bored so that I can eat according to my own taste, but it's even better if I add sugar and vinegar from the table little by little. Hot cold noodles are surprisingly pretty spicy, so it's a good idea to check them out.

â²Review (Shikigami 536339): Naksan Naengmyeon… It's located in a place that's really hard to find, but it's a cold noodle restaurant worth visiting ~ ^^ A restaurant that is somewhere between watercress noodles and bibimnaengmyeon, but you can enjoy it regardless of whether you like it or not!! A place where anyone, young or old, can eat deliciously~
