Nowadays, when it's difficult to travel abroad, there is an alley in Seoul where you can feel the atmosphere of a foreign country. The Hangang-ro 2-ga alley between Samgak Station and Sinyungsan Station has been filled with hot restaurants in recent years. In particular, stores that seem to have transferred the local sensibility make you feel as if you have gone on a trip abroad.
Originally, this place is a place filled with old vendors that are great for the common people to enjoy a meal and a cup of soju in the evening, starting with the Daegu Hot Spring Alley. In the evening, the alley was filled with the sounds of three to five office workers dressed in suits gathering to unravel the day's hustle and bustle. Tall buildings could not be built thanks to the nearby US military base, so the alley with only low-rise buildings added to the nostalgic atmosphere. Recently, restaurants with exotic facades are popping up one after another, blending with traditional long-established stores, creating a unique feeling. A unique alley where past and present, Korea and foreign countries blend together. This week, let's go on a trip to the charms of Yongridan-gil.
The restaurants on Samgakji Yongli Dan-gil include Cantonese style Chinese cuisine, Italian Roman-style focaccia della strada, Hong Kong-style Chinese roast in Hong Kong, Italian samsam tutor from California, Japanese tavern kibo, Thai cuisine chansam, Vietnamese local cuisine hyote, Lao-piyak, Thai cuisine, Thai cuisine, Thai-chiangmai, Japanese umami, American brunch approach (approach), pork cutlet bucheon, and Japanese cutting board.

Lost in Hong Kong exudes the feeling of Hong Kong from the outside of the store. The interior is also attractive, as if it had been moved from a Hong Kong restaurant. They mainly make Hong Kong-style barbecue dishes, but for lunch, you can enjoy a rice bowl with barbecue part, rice, and vegetables, and for dinner, you can find 4 types of barbecue on a platter. In the BBQ rice bowl, three types of barbecue are placed on top of the rice: beef, pork, and chicken, and pork cooked as if it were deep-fried is particularly appealing. Cocktails made from Hong Kong-style milk tea and oolong highballs mixed with black tea and whiskey will also be points to visit this place.

Samsam Tutor, a restaurant full of San Francisco sensibility. The bright interior and the sounds and smells of constantly cooking in the open kitchen are also as vibrant as if they were in this house. The chewy gnocchi served with truffle cream sauce combines rich and salty flavors. Putting on cute smiley french fries is an Egyptian signature. The butter-flavored jambon beur pasta made from homemade jambon is also a popular dish.

A Japanese kakuuchi-style bar. A new restaurant has been opened in Hyote, famous for its plans that seem to be moving restaurants from overseas. Kakuuchi comes from a Japanese culture where workers enjoy a light cup of sake with a simple snack before returning home from work, and you can think of it as a sparrow mill where you can simply enjoy standing without a chair. There are menus that go well with sake, such as fresh cucumber sauce, yuzu avocado ponzu, octopus, and assorted seaweed.

A wine bar where you can enjoy Thai food and wine together. The interior with an industrial sensibility, tableware that seems to have just been brought from Thailand, and the interior filled with the scent of exotic spices is both heterogeneous and strangely kitschy, making it feel like an exotic cafe. There are window seats where you can sit while looking out at the large window, and large, long table seats. âSatte,â a Thai-style chicken skewer with red curry sauce, and âbanana roti,â which has a chewy flavor that can be found on the streets of Thailand, are popular.

Even a small prop was brought from Vietnam, and Hyote is full of exotic feeling. They sell Vietnamese dishes including rice noodles. Chicken rice noodles with a light broth that has been brewed for over ten hours, and hyote rice noodles, a spicy seafood rice noodle made with various seafood and Southeast Asian herbs, are popular. Hyote salad with vegetables, squid, and lime sauce is full of fresh Southeast Asian flavors. When the weather is nice, I put a table in the yard in front of the store, but I have the impression that I have come to a tourist spot in Vietnam.
