It's been 3 years since the spring fireworks, which I enjoyed every spring as if it were an annual event, were skipped due to COVID-19. This year, we have been waiting for good news: the cherry blossom path will open for the first time since 2019. It is now possible to enjoy spring at various cherry blossom spots in Seoul, such as the famous cherry blossom spots Yoonjung-ro and Songpa Dul-gil. This week, I'm going to introduce 5 of the best aromatic cafes that are even better served with cherry blossoms.
1. A deep-flavored latte you can enjoy at Seongnaecheon Dokbang-gil, Seongnae-dong 'Pierrot Coffee'

The walking path, which runs about 1 km from Seongnaecheon Dokbang-gil to Palgakjeong in Olympic Park, is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms. The nearby Piero Coffee is a cafe with stylish Joker and Piero concept art, but it is also famous for its coffee flavor. The signature “Seongnae-dong Coffee†has a mild sweetness and a savory body. Yangjaecheon, which stretches from Yangjae Citizens' Forest to Tancheon, is a lovely place with well-structured walking paths on both sides centered around a waterway. The cherry blossoms, forsythia, and the pouring sunshine along the promenade make you feel spring first. There are many cafes in Yangjaecheon, and among them, Bryans Coffee is famous for more than 10 types of scones. We recommend the scones that are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and “Mollate,†a signature coffee with a subtle sweetness.

On the promenade along Anyangcheon embankment along Anyangcheon near Yangpyeong Station, you can see about 900 varieties of cherry trees, gold leaf flowers, seaweed, and irises, as well as various flower beds and waterside plants. Close to Yangpyeong Station, Season Coffee & Bake is a stylish hanok cafe with a red tiled roof. The bakery menu of coffee, croissants, campanhe, and pastries, and the dessert menu of cakes, pies, and cookies are all delicious. The signature is the “baby cappuccino†topped with sugar and cinnamon.

4. 'The Hyundai Seoul Camel Coffee' in Yeouido along with the cherry blossom spot Yoon Jung-ro

Yoon Jung-ro is famous as a cherry blossom spot in Seoul. After being closed every year after COVID-19, it will finally open from March 31 to April 8. The Hyundai Seoul, located not far from Yoonjung-ro, is a must-visit, even for 'Camel Coffee'. The signature “Camel Coffee,†which is the same as the name of the store, puts soft, sweet cream on top of savory coffee. The tip is to drink it as it is without mixing it. It's also a good idea to wait in advance through the app.

A brunch cafe converted from a detached house with a garden. The large garden has the advantage of being able to spend time with your dog. After enjoying coffee, explore Walkerhill's cherry blossom path. You can walk from Achasan Ecological Park to the place where the Walkerhill Hotel is located, and cherry blossom pilgrims flock every year to the spectacular sight of walking through a tunnel made of cherry blossoms.
