Running through the blue sky~ A popular restaurant in Jeju where spring is fresh

Jeju is a magical island where the rolling waves and cool breeze will open your heart. Seogwipo and Jeju ranked first and second respectively in the May domestic reservation status revealed by a travel agency, so Korean people still love Jeju. The demand for travel, which had been suppressed due to long periods of distance, is exploding, and reservations for major hotels and restaurants in Jeju are being closed, so if you plan a trip, you have to move even a little fast.

Jeju, which has blessed nature, is rich in fresh seafood and meat, and is also an interesting place with recipes that can only be enjoyed here, such as seaweed soup with pomelo or sea urchin, dombe meat, melo, and miso-based mackerel. The interior and plating of the restaurants, which capture the unique sensibility of this island, is also a perfect place to remember again with photos.

A small, stateless wine bar. It is attracting attention for its cooking style that makes extensive use of various spices such as chum yum, mara, curry, and coconut. “Fried eggs,” made with tamarine sauce, spiced crumble, and celery, after coating the eggs with a thin batter and deep-fried until soft-boiled, have a sweet and sour flavor. The “pork pig's foot risotto,” which is served with a risotto made from Annam rice after applying pork leg meat and simmering it in a Filipino-style adobo sauce, and “fish noodles,” which are eaten with chicken thighs and grated on Chinese noodles are also popular.

Jeju pork specialty store located at the entrance of Jungmun Tourist Complex. You can enjoy white pork and black pork from Jeju that were slaughtered on the same day. Jeju pork, cooked well on a well-heated grill, is full of juice, and is particularly characterized by the fact that the scaffold part is very chewy. You can enjoy it comfortably with a service that carefully cooks each item without having to bake it yourself. “Rapeseed flower bibimguksu” with soft-boiled egg has a sweet and sour flavor and is great to wrap with grilled pork.

[Tips for eating]

▲Location: 89 Cheonjeyeon-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

▲Business hours: 12:00 – 22:00 (B/T 15:00 – 17:00) Closed on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month

▲Price: Jeju black pork (300g) 30,000 won, Jeju white pork (300g) 24,000 won, rapeseed flower bibimguksu 6,000 won

▲Testimonial (watermelon juice addict): Personally, I think it's better than ripeness… The black pork broth is exploding, and the scaffolding is really chewy. White pork is a bit cheap, but if you're a tourist, it's black pork, haha, the noodles aren't that sweet and sour; they're a bit light.

A small, simple Chinese home-style restaurant set up by a Korean-Chinese couple who are interested in cooking. It's so popular that you have to make a reservation a month in advance. If you order a Chinese home-style Korean style menu, 6 to 9 different menus, including dessert, will be prepared. The dishes developed by receiving feedback from many customers, such as cold dishes with stir-fried dried tofu, steamed garlic prawns, mapo tofu, fish-flavored eggplant, vegetables of the day, and soup dishes, are unrivaled. If you're planning a trip to Jeju, I recommend making a reservation here first.

[Tips for eating]

▲Location: 12-7 Onpyeong Sangha-ro 15beon-gil, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

▲Business hours: 11:30 to 16:00 on weekdays, closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays

▲Price: Chinese home-cooked meal (per person/can be ordered for 2 or more people): 35,000 won, sweet and sour soup (large) 15,000 won

▲Testimonial (Shikigin uses a nick name): Reservations are too intense.. Hmm, you have to make a reservation at least two months in advance. It does not have weekends and is open only on weekdays. But it's so delicious. First of all, the boss is good at spices

A French restaurant by Chef Jeon Joon-ho, who has worked in Michelin restaurants in the US and France. The luxurious interior space with a dark gray and blue base is separated by a bar table and a hall where you can eat while looking at the open kitchen. Here, ingredients from Jeju are used to make French recipes, and served in Korean organic bowls. “Leek Salad,” the first dish on the same course as the signature, was seasoned with hobbygoat sauce and lime dressing on top of the leeks, and hazelnuts were added to enhance the texture. The dinner course takes about 2 hours, so it's a good idea to check in advance if you are a traveler with an important schedule.

[Tips for eating]

▲Location: 19-8 Gunam-dong 2-gil, Jeju-si

▲Business hours: Tuesday-Thursday 17:30 – 22:30, Friday-Saturday 12:00 – 22:30 (B/T 14:30 – 17:30), closed on Sundays and Mondays

▲Price: Lunch course 50,000 won, dinner course 100,000 won

▲Testimonial (Shikigami II, Aigiya II): The interior and cuisine are very classy, but the atmosphere is like a bistro, so I think I was able to enjoy it casually. I tried rabbit liver dishes for the first time, and they were surprisingly delicious. It was nice that it wasn't a Nokiz zone. The boss's philosophy is great too!

A cafe with a view of Hwanguchi Beach, the longest and most tranquil in Jeju, with Sanbangsan Mountain as the roof in the background. From the moment it opened until now, it has always been filled with customers who have fallen in love with this scenery. The spacious interior also feels more like a gallery than a cafe. You can enjoy coffee, brunch, cocktails, and tea. The signature brunch “One & Only” is a cream sauce with whole bacon and shiitake mushrooms, topped with ciabatta bread and poached egg. The “Sanbangsan Cake,” which resembles Sanbangsan Mountain, is also great to enjoy with coffee.

[Tips for eating]

▲Location: 141 Sanbang-ro, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do

▲Business hours: 09:00 – 20:00

▲Price: Sanbangsan cake 12,000 won, One&Only brunch 18,000 won, avocado sandwich 16,000 won

▲Review (Shikigin Garlic Baguette): Probably the most famous cafe in Jeju… The view from the parking lot is different. I think I was overwhelmed by the size of Sanbangsan Mountain when I actually saw it rather than just looking at the pictures on Instagram. The price is a bit bad, but it's worth the view!
