Since the mid-2010s, sushi omakase has been leading the fine food culture, starting with sushi bars, ariakake, sushi koji, and kojima. The food culture called âomakase,â where all menu components such as appetizers, sushi, and desserts are provided according to the chef's judgment, became a genre by creating various variations such as âKorean beef omakase,â âpork macase,â and âimo kase.â
As the level of food has gradually increased, Korea has recently seen so many businesses that it can be called a sushi omakase boom. There are chefs who are independent from existing businesses and present their own cuisine, and there are also businesses that seek to switch to omakase by making use of the experience and skills they have gained while running pan-zushi.
The chefs' endless challenges make food explorers happy. The downside is that reservations are intense, such as âSukangshunâ, but the sushi omakase guarantees the time and taste that is well worth it. How about pairing delicious sushi with sake this week to celebrate half of the year in a small way?

1. âSushi Rikyuâ in Dosan Park with a variety of configurations and excellent value for money

Chef Ryu Ji-ji from Kojima opened this sushi earlier this year. It is so popular that it is difficult to make a reservation due to its diverse configuration and good value for money. We serve sushi that is faithful to the basics with clean and clean recipes that make the most of the unique flavors of the ingredients. Since there are many types of sushi in the course, the portions are small so that you can eat deliciously until you finish the course. The lunch is 100,000 won, which is a very good value for money due to the organization and cleanness.

â²Price: 100,000 won for lunch, 200,000 won for dinner
â²Testimonial (Dietary Calorie-Destroyer): The sushi is small, but it has a lot of pieces, so it's even better because you can enjoy a variety of things. The downside is that it's difficult to make a reservation because it's so popular.
2. The most elegant sushi that is faithful to the basics, Dosan Park's âSushi Styleâ

Sushi that is calm, clean, and faithful to the basics. Rather than being rich and colorful, I can feel from the taste that they tried to use the highest quality ingredients in every dish. The overall balance of the course, including Shari, is good. The black and white interior, which has an elegant sense of space, also adds value to the luxurious meal. The chef's comfortable customer service is a bonus.

â²Testimonial (What is the son of Shikigami doing?) : It doesn't have any major characteristics, but 80% always seems to do it. Even if you go to another sushi restaurant, you'll come back to the end. I think it's a place that is most faithful to the basics.
3. If you want to try sushi that is trending these days, go to Garosu-gil's âSushi Homajuâ

It's a popular middle class omakase located on Garosu-gil, so it's also one of the places where it's difficult to make a reservation. The trend these days is to occasionally eat shari (rice), and sushi omaju falls into this category. The occasional, crunchy sushi has a good balance when paired with beer or sake. One of the advantages of this place is the comfortable hospitality that flows through the water. The second store âKomoru,â which pairs homage tsumami with wine as a snack, is also popular.

â²Testimonial (The food snack is a homerun bowl): The sushi flavor makes you have to order a beer~ The biggest drawback is that it's difficult to make a reservation. Be sure to take a certified photo at the entrance~!
4. Friendly customer service and reasonable value for money, 'Seiryu' in Jamsil

It is one of the best sushi omakase restaurants in Jamsil, starting with Chef Lee Hyo-yoon. It's always difficult to make a reservation due to its small size of 10 people and reasonable prices and value for money since the beginning of opening. The biggest advantage is that you can enjoy sushi at a reasonable price while using good ingredients. The customer service that covers all the guests is excellent. It's impressive that they treat customers with a very detailed and kind introduction to the names of all the ingredients, how to eat them, and where they are produced.

â²Testimonial (Shikigami Mononokehime): There are always a lot of people because there are a lot of office workers in Jamsil. There are also many family visitors. Prices have increased little by little, but the value for money is still good. The chef was very kind and I enjoyed the meal.
5. âSushi Yugenâ in Apgujeong, brings happiness to the mouth from a hearty sushi

It's sushi by Chef Kim Wook Jin, who has a career at Sushi Sanwon Cheong. After passing through hors d'oeuvres such as white ribs, sea cucumber, and chewy bok tempura, this dish continues. The characteristic of this place is that the netta (the ingredient that goes on top of the rice) is thick, and there is a feeling of happiness that makes your mouth feel full when you put it in one bite. The balance is good because of the combination of well-aged, savory fish and the flavor of root wasabi from Shizuoka. The kumtaebap that comes out right at the end has a savory flavor and provides a hearty sense of satisfaction.

â²Testimonial (I'm amazed): From geuso abalone to golden rice… It's a middle class sushi restaurant, but the course structure is high end, so I really want to praise it. I've loved it since I was in Yeoksam!
