Episode 4. Take a look at eclairs, the hottest bread that's trending these days!
âEclairâ is named for âlightning â in French because it âdisappears like lightning â once you
start eating it. It's a confectionary made from choux dough. It is a dessert made by filling a pastry with chocolate, coffee flavor, custard
cream, etc. inside a pastry that is as long as a finger, and chocolate is applied to the surface of the confectionary.
Nowadays, you can find not only chocolate and custard cream, but also fruit fillings such as lemon , strawberry, and blueberry to unique flavors like rose cream. (Really, wasabi eclairs might come out..) Also, the eclairs with colorful chocolate,
cream, and petals on the surface are so âwonderful â that they can easily be called âworks of art.â
A dessert made with the ingenuity and creativity of patissiers, the very same dessert you can enjoy once with your eyes and twice with your mouth!
Today, the Dessert Road Team will personally visit three places famous for eclairs!
The representative eclair specialty store in Gyeongridan-gil , Eclair by Garuharu
It is a specialty store of various types of eclairs and macaroons created under the motto âsame day production, same day saleâ by Chef Yoon Eun-young from Renault in France. It's such a popular place that you can often see people strolling around in front of the store even when it's not time to open
its doors.
An eclair âcertified shotâ of this eclair has been posted on
social media without getting bored.
The exterior of the store and the interior are all unified in white, so the overall feeling is bright and cheerful.
When you walk into the store with excitement, the first thing that
catches your eye is a showcase lined with various eclairs and macaroons. While looking at the showcase, when I looked around the store, I split the store in half to make a kitchen.
The characteristic is that the brightly open kitchen can also be viewed from the outside.
l Eclairs by Garuharu's Eclairs
l Desserts you can eat with your eyes~
l Signature menu double vanilla (5,500 won)
l Very Berry Good with blueberry jam (6,500 won)
I eat it sprinkled with l dropper's raspberry sauce
l Eclairs lined up in a row
l Macaroons are also available!
l Fresh appearance
l It's good to eat on the terrace
Eclair by Garuharu's basic eclair and best-selling double vanilla !
The vanilla cream
filling the inside of the confectionary feels soft and soft, and at the same time, it has a rich vanilla scent and creamy body.
The cream is made by properly blending top-grade
Tahiti vanilla and mild-flavored Madagascar vanilla, then milk and French gourmet butter are added. This cream is not felt or overly sweet, and
maintains just the right amount of sugar and aroma. Recognition of the texture and
taste representative of Eclair by Garuharu's eclairs, which are characterized by their soft puffs and cream~
Another popular menu item, âVery Berry Good,â filled the
eclairs with blueberry jam filling.
The cranberries placed on top of the eclairs are slightly pickled in cherry liquor and contain
very little alcohol. The dropper, which looked like a bottle turned upside down, contained raspberry sauce, so I dropped it smartly on top of the
eclair so I could eat it .
A
refreshing menu where you can feel the aroma and flavor of various berries when you take a bite!
You can also buy ecolias and
macaroon-themed eco bags and postcards, so it seems that the sweets here have established themselves as a brand. Recommended when you want to enjoy a luxurious dessert time~

Patachu was introduced on Tasty Road and became even more popular among dessert enthusiasts. Even on Garosu-gil, it's located
a little further into a residential area, so it's not easy to find, but the store is always bustling with customers who keep looking for it after tasting it.
Contrary to the first Eclair by Garuharu I visited, the interior from the outside to the interior of the store was decorated in black colors and low light
. So when you walk into the store, you can naturally focus on the eclairs displayed in the showcase, and at the
same time feel like an overall calm and luxurious dessert cafe.
This place is famous for having 2
sizes: a regular eclair and a smaller mini eclair. The mini eclairs are just the right size to fit in one bite. I really like the fact that there are small eclairs when I want to try different types.
After all, the beauty of patashu is the delicate decoration! Created by a patissier from Le Cordon
Bleu, the eclairs are so beautiful that you are hungry just by looking at them.
The completion of a dessert is a face..?!
l Eclairs are out!
l Foreblanc eclairs (4,500 won)
l Refreshing cassis fruit cream
l Chocolate pistachio (4,000 won)
l It's full of chocolate cream and pistachio cream
l A showcase that looks like a jewelry box
l It's also on display outside
l A calm and luxurious dessert cafe
Today I tasted two types of eclairs. The first item on the menu, Forêt Blanc
eclair, is French for âwhite forest,â and is topped with black cherries and cream cheese to make you think of a snowy forest. The
filling is filled with purple-colored cassis fruit cream and has a refreshing flavor. The choux part of eclairs is generally crispy and
hard ~
The second item on the menu is chocolate pistachio, which has a sweet feel even if you just hear the name. As
the name suggests, the filling is filled with chocolate cream and pistachio cream. An impressive dessert with chocolate cream, reminiscent of the spire of
St. Basil's Cathedral in Russia!
There is only one long table that can seat about 6 people in the room , so I recommend packing products as much as possible and enjoying them at nearby cafes~!

When you open the door, there are black wooden tables on one side and white marble tables on the other. All kinds of cute props that are as cute as the ecléum here adorn the wall on one side. In addition to eclairs, the showcase is neatly displayed, such as mille-feuille and macaroons that IJ Baking Studio is proud of.
