Hororok~slurp! Udon restaurant when the wind blows
With the news of the rain that moistened the ground, the weather suddenly dropped below zero. The scenery on the way to and from work was filled with people walking fast with their hands in thick padded pockets. As the weather gets colder, of course, they often look for foods that can keep them hot, so when it gets colder, sales of foods such as anpan, fish cake, and gyoza increase. Another winter delicacy is udon. If you slurp up the noodles and take in the hot soup, all the winter cold will run away. Today's SNS Taste Appraisal Group will introduce five places famous for their udon that can melt your frozen body and mind.
1. âGenroku udon,â which has the specialty âChidori udonâ from the Gyusu region of Japan
A road alley behind the back gate of Hongdae. Genroku Udon, whose interior has an authentic Japanese atmosphere, was the first place in Japan to introduce âChidori Udon.â Unlike udon, which is flavored with dried bonito flakes, Chidori udon is characterized by a deeper, richer flavor made from mackerel, dried bonito, dried horse mackerel, and pure kelp. As a garnish, it is topped with chewy chicken and grilled green onions, and you can enjoy a new flavor of udon. âNiku udon,â which is topped with grilled green onions and specially marinated beef, is also a popular menu, and the owner learned the secret directly from a famous craftsman in Oita Prefecture, so you can fully enjoy authentic Japanese flavors. Also, Kenroku's menu is divided into normal, large, and extra large bowl sizes, and the price is the same regardless of size, and noodle sari is provided free of charge to those who don't have enough, so you can have a hearty meal.
â²Shikigami Ao^^'s review: I added a udon specialty store like this…, Shinsegae.. Like a real udon honey butter chip â²Business hours: 11:30 ~ 21:30 (last order 21:00) â²Location: 316-3 Sangsu-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul â²Price range: 7,000 won per person
2. 'Akira' in Ulsan, home to the nation's strongest udon master
The owner of âAkira,â who was selected as âThe Strongest Udon Masterâ by the Master of Life in 2014, is said to have learned how to make authentic Sanuki udon himself in Japan. This is the first homemade udon specialty store in Ulsan City, and is characterized by its wide and thick noodles made by hand picking raw noodles. âBukkake udonâ is the best menu item, but it is cold udon that is grated with tsuyu and is characterized by not having a separate soup. Meju, homemade tsuyu made with salt, and noodles kneaded with sea salt go well together. Other than this, thick, homemade pork cutlets are sold as a pair with udon, so I recommend eating them together. It is so famous that it is called Ulsan's top three pork cutlets.
3. If you want to enjoy a variety of udon, go to Udon Kajoku
Udon Kajoku is a small udon restaurant located across from the main gate of Hanyang University. Udon Kajoku, which means âudon family,â was created based on the slogan âAnyone can enjoy it easily, without feeling burdened by anyone, but insist on the best quality of udon.â Therefore, it is characterized by being able to enjoy various flavors of Sanuki udon at a reasonable price. The main menu is âkamatamaâ (cold udon), where hot raw noodles freshly boiled in a kiln are topped with a raw egg and grated with tsuyu; âbugakeâ (cold udon); âkajoku udonâ with a warm katsuobushi base topped with shrimp tempura; and âpork udon,â which is full of meat with a sharp, rich broth. Recently, they also introduced a new menu called âRayumen,â which is recommended for those looking for a different flavor with a spicy udon that is eaten raw with shrimp-flavored homemade chili oil and salad. At Udon Kajoku, which offers a wide variety of udon, you can also find cream udon and curry udon that capture women's tastes in the winter.
â²Review by Shikigami YeeUn_2: The inside of the store looks like a real Japan, so it's nice to feel like you're in Japan. It was a place I went to because it doesn't use chemical additives, but they say it was selected as a restaurant in Seoul â²Business hours: 11:00-21:00 (break time 15:00 to 17:00 /closed on Mondays) â²Location: 32-22 Haengdang-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul â²Price range: 5,000 won to 8,000 won per person
4. The Korean branch of Miyako Udon in Kyoto, Japan. 'Miyako Udon' in Dongseong-ro, Daegu
It's a udon restaurant run by Japanese Akemoto and his Korean wife, and it's a popular restaurant where customers are always waiting. The secret to the flavor lies in the secret to the unique flavor of the soup by importing 3 or 4 types of fish powder, such as tuna, mackerel, and sardines, directly from Japan, but it is said that the secret is not disclosed. Secret udon dashi plays a major role in creating the basic flavors of udon, sukiyaki (Japanese beef hot pot), and various rice bowls. The cold winter has returned, but the most popular dish here is âcold meat udon,â which is udon with a cold broth base. The combination of chewy noodles and salty broth is rated as excellent. At lunchtime, you can eat at 3,000 won cheaper than the previous price, so it's a good idea to check it out.
5. âKonaya,â a udon with no fondant in curry
Konaya started as a small udon restaurant in Tokyo's Sugamo area. It is famous for selling curry udon that is soft and has a unique flavor by mixing curry (base) made by artisans with broth and milk. Curry soup, which goes better with udon noodles than rice, is addictive the more you eat it. Keema curry udon topped with plenty of seasoning made by stir-frying minced pork and chicken in hot sauce, and Negiyubu curry udon with deep-fried tofu and green onions stewed in sauce are recommended for those who want a spicy flavor. Additionally, soy milk cream curry udon made with soy milk and vegetables is popular among women who like mild flavors, and shrimp curry udon topped with deep-fried shrimp is also popular. It also comes with beer, so you can easily enjoy a glass of beer while eating, so it's a good idea to check it out.
